CM is proud to have donated to The Care Worker’s Charity crisis grant, a fund set up to support care workers should they need to self-isolate during the current pandemic.

Each and every day, care workers on the frontline are caring for vulnerable individuals. If they are unable to work, they are at risk of falling into incredibly challenging times. Due to this, The Care Worker’s Charity has set an emergency grant scheme: the COVID-19 Care Workers Crisis Grant.

Over the next few weeks, the grants programme is set to receive a large number of applications for help and support. The Care Worker’s Charity is therefore asking for additional support to assist them as they face an increase in demand.

During what is one of the biggest crises our generation will probably ever know, we want to support some of the 2 million care workers in the UK. We’ve donated £5,000 to the scheme,  a figure that pushed the total raised for the project over £100,000.

With 170,000 Care Workers using our CM solution to record care visits, we’ve always recognised the importance of showing our recognition to Care Workers. We’ve offered many prizes and rewards over the years. Most recently we gave away shopping vouchers to celebrate our 20 year anniversary.

But right now we felt it was important to support a national initiative to help Care Workers in need.

Mick Crosthwaite, Executive Chairman, said “As a supplier to the social care sector, CM offer our gratitude and support to the UK’s dedicated care workers at this difficult time. Thank you for caring for society’s most vulnerable.”

The Care Worker’s Charity was set up in 2009 to support former and current care workers as they face a time of need and hardship.

The grants provided by The Care Worker’s Charity is its core charitable offering. In 2019, they awarded 532 grants to care workers worth over £181,000, helping individuals to improve their quality of life or face life-changing circumstances.

The next few months are set to be incredibly tough, especially for all of those in the healthcare sectors. But together, we will get through it.
